What are the best things to do & see in New Zealand

depends what you're into. I'm a New Zealander (living in Wellington, the capital city) and I love the fact that there are HEAPS of outdoor things to do. Native bush walks (we have no snakes or other nasty things in our bush!) fishing, water sports (in summer - Dec - Feb). You can do bungy jumping in Taupo and Queenstown, skiing (Aug is best for that). Plus there is heaps more space here. (population is 4 million for the entire country!)
